Episode 2 of Blood Refreshed Supply on Well Done with no deaths (PS5)

Thought y’all may enjoy this. I’m working on doing every episode deathless. I keep dying on E1M7 so I decided to try Episode 2 for a change of pace and got this run in a few attempts. It helps that Episode 2 is my favorite.

For any fellow controller players curious about my settings I have:

Horizontal sensitivity: 70 Vertical Sensitivity: 60 Stick deadzones: 30% (my controller is very old. On a newer controller this could probably be lower). Aim Assist: Off Motion Sensor Aiming: Off Smoothing: Off Acceleration Speed: 1 Acceleration Smoothing: 1 Alt Attack: R2 (since I use alt attack more than regular attack) Attack: L2 Jump: L1 Crouch: R3

Everything else default.

For anyone needing help getting the Blood trophy for finishing E2M5 in under 40 seconds

Just make sure you pick up some jump boots on the earlier levels and you’ll be good to go. Did this on Well Done so any difficulty should be fine. Now I’m just missing that bugged trophy which hopefully they will fix soon.

The other night I found out that wolfenstein enemy territory was added to steam so I loaded it up and played a few matches on fueldump for ol times sake.

Made me realize how ahead of its time it was. I remember playing that game on my family emachine on dial up. It was also a staple in lan parties because it was free to play so everyone could quickly install it. Severs with 32 people, different classes, fast load times, simple objectives.

Around the same time, you also had day of defeat and and battlefield 1942 which were also amazing leaps forward in the shooter genre, but enemy territory appealed more to my boomer shooter sensibilities because of the movement. The speed felt more like quake and doom. It was fast. It was also the first game I remember where there was a hit indication sound. Spraying across the field with a Thompson just had a certain satisfying feel when you’d land some shots. Clunk clunk clunk “I NEED A MEDIC”

Does anyone else have nostalgia for this game? I know some will claim it’s not a boomer shooter but I feel like it was right on the cusp and was one of the titles that helped transition to the modern age. Makes me happy there’s still a decent amount of people playing this classic.

Outlaws Remastered Physical announced-Limitedrungames

Limitedrungames just announced an all new physical standard and collectors edition of the iconic cult classic fps game Outlaws and its expansion pack for consoles available soon.

This is hands down one of my favorite iconic fps games from back in the day, so maybe I’ll pre-order this for my birthday🎂

Hopefully Blood is going to get a physical next

Title pretty much says it all. I’m not the biggest boomer shooter fan. Or I wasn’t at least. But there’s two games, arguably three that fundamentally changed my perception of the genre.

  1. Cultic

  2. Hedon

  3. Beyond Citadel

All three of these I’d argue have something in common, in that they deviate from the uh “circle strafe/run around an arena and shoot” style gameplay of a lot of boomer shooters. Beyond Citadel is particular has become one of my favourite games of all time and that kinda of tactical yet at times also frantic gameplay is exactly what I crave and from all I’ve seen Selaco is probably going to scratch that same itch.

That being said, as I understand it Selaco is in EA and only has 1 of 3 chapters out right now? I’d love to play the game in one go but I’ve also found very few other alternatives to play in the meantime to scratch that tactical boomer shooter itch. Should I just bite the bullet and go in now or wait for a full release? Is there even a general expectation of when a full release is coming?

Looking for something like Doom 2016/Eternal where one can’t stand still & rather than defend, benefits from diving in & killing as many people/demons/whatever head-on to increase their health & armor, rather than parrying or hiding around corners.

I love the frenetic pace & energy of Eternal (esp) & 2016, and find myself replaying them over & over…looking for that similar vibe, preferably a shooter

Games like the Wolfenstein series is decent but not really similarly paced at the same level in battle. I literally feel high after playing Eternal, adrenaline flowing through my veins & such from that play system

Edit: Wow..tysm for all the replies!! There are a few titles I’ve not heard of before, which is exactly what I was looking for…looking fwd to checking them out!

Exultia level

As I am playing Eternal for the first time, in the second phase of Exultia level, I found a secret or something that I was not able to find online (idk if someone posted here before.)

Namely, after defeating the Slayer Gate, and you proceed to the part where there are dropping platforms, I randomly got somewhere at the edge of the map. (I think it was in the lower corners) it was just a heart and and some few candles. It doesn’t show up as a secret but as a easter egg I suppose.

Has this been debunked?

Who else believes that Dr.Mercer from Dead Space was inspired by Dr.Betruger.

I mean when you see it both of them are sociopathic, mentally twisted, mad scientists who betrayed their respective corporations and who want to see the extinction of the human race using their hideous creations. If these two met they would most likely work together towards a goal they both wanted and it would honestly be pretty cool if Betruger used his demonic sorcery to enhance Dr.Mercer’s Hunter potentially giving it fire breath and whip like bladed arms. It would also be cool if Doomguy and Isaac teamed up against their common enemies in a potential crossover to save earth from both the Demons and Necromorph infestation.

Made my first The Dark Ages x Nerf toy blaster! The original idea was to make in game collectable toy versions of each gun in TDA, but I’m happy I ended up going with this.
I definitely plan to make more in the future, maybe even the whole arsenal.

Model made from scratch in 3D Maya and used Photopea to make the box art.

Improvements:

  • Fixed a destructible wall that had a different texture from the rest of the wall in the River of Souls stage.

  • (Steam Deck) Fixed an issue where the Chat Message function worked improperly.

  • Fixed an issue where a placeholder was displayed in session’s chat instead of the actual username.

  • Fixed an issue where improperly displayed team colors were displayed when the player dies in multiplayer matches.

  • Fixed an issue where opponent Team Chats could be seen while playing inside a Playfab session in Multiplayer.

  • (Nintendo Switch) Fixed an issue where the option menu failed to be displayed under certain circumstances.

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to navigate on scoreboard as long as the scoreboard is open by only one user in splitscreen.

I recently picked this up on Steam, so far I really like it, for me it scratches the Hexen/ Heretic itch, them being my favourite of the old FPS games. Only thing I didn’t like, the crossbow enemies are a bit OP, you can’t see the projectiles at all and they’re almost instant like a sniper, giving no chance to dodge, playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty was a bit of a pain, as soon as you pop around a corner you’ve got half a dozen enemies at least shooting the crossbows at you with ridiculous accuracy.

Anyone else played it, what do you think?
