Hello POSTAL Dude’s and Dudettes!

It’s been a hot minute since the last game update, so we wanted to take the time to let you guys know what to expect over the next few months.

First we’d like to apologize for the slow cadence of updates. To make up for this and lesson the annoyance in the future, we’ve decided to take advantage of Valve’s new API features by making it easy to access our internal beta branches!

So while our official public updates will still be a good few months apart, anyone that’s interested to see how the game is coming along can join the cutting edge beta branch, right from the main menu.
We hope to have this feature ready for early next year, if not before, and after that we plan to update the beta branch every week or so.

So, what’s currently in our internal builds, which you guys will be able to access via the beta branches soon, and will make a public release in the new year?

Co-Op!

It’s been a long time coming, but we are finally on the home stretch with 4 player co-op support. It is now possible to finish the game from start to finish, so we are now testing for replication issues and also working on improving performance for the host PC. It really is a lot of fun and we can’t wait for you guys to be able to cause chaos in the streets of Edensin together.

The recent barking fix reminded me how fun updating HROT is, so I got on a roll.

Ver. 1.3:

  • fixed doubled sound when picking up a pistol
  • player’s voice de-noised (never record voices into the game while the dishwasher is running in the room)
  • Pterodactyl drops amphorae instead of gifts
  • fixed oversized gib in Supreme Commander-in-chief’s stomach
  • some new maps in Bombermod
  • GoBack button in the Menu (upper left corner)
  • another river in my country has been poisoned -> the body proportions of the Bečva fish have changed
  • Infested Rider has a 50% chance to drop a Bubblebum. Bubblebum adds 5 hp 1 second after picking it up (it will make a bubble first). Just like that.

I haven’t mentioned for a long time (new players might not know), that the console command silvestr will launch fireworks (do not indoors). This feature is especially useful at the end of the year.

And finally, a fun fact: Before I became a game developer, I was a confectioner..

A lot of people have complained about some barking, there are some negative reviews about it, but I’ve always thought that it’s just some people who don’t like the dog barking while gunfire. Today I found out that on some PC configurations there was a looping unbearable barking. It’s a shame that such a bug survived there for almost 2 years, levels with the ratters must have been awful, even downright unplayable, brrr.

Has it really been SIX years since DUSK came out? Time sure does… fly.


While we’re still working on adding custom enemy and weapon support to the SDK that will be done SOON™ today we’ve updated the Goodies DLC with somore more… GOODIES.


First of all we’ve finally uploaded Stephan (Fucking) Weyte’s entire DUSK VO session (as promised years ago) to the Goodies folder as individual audio clips! Enjoy, MWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

We’ve also added another long lost DUSK development build!


Ooh, that’s crunchy.

The DUSK graphic novel has now become over 300 pages and we’re talking to publishers about turning it into a hardcover book because honestly, we have to at this point…




And yes, we’re still working on the BIG BOX collector’s edition of DUSK that will see the light of Dawn one day – we promise 🙂
