I’m not on discord, why has the new season been pushed back for ANOTHER 2 weeks for a total of 6 weeks? no strong opinions and I don’t really care but I would like to know. Also nerf the railgun down to 50. 😺

After the latest update, Quake Champions now restricts matchmaking to servers with ping under 150.
Well… guess what? That basically killed the game for me.

I’ve been sitting in queue for over 2 hours and still can’t find a single match.
Before this update, I could play (with 160–180ms ping) just fine — not ideal, but at least playable.

Funny thing is, this already happened once before in a previous update.
They later fixed it and raised the limit to 200 ping, and everything was fine again.
But now it’s back?
Did the source code time-travel or something? 😅

Please, id/Bethesda, do something about this.
Either raise the limit again or give us the option to join higher ping servers.
Right now, this restriction just locks out a huge part of the community.

Hey everyone, not a native English speaker here — used ChatGPT to help me write this, so excuse any weird phrasing 😅

I’ve got a fun thought experiment: Could rapha win a Quake Champions Duel if his monitor was off — playing only by sound?

I kinda love the idea of pros being forced to rely on pure instinct and audio cues. In Japan we call this “Shingan” (心眼) — the “mind’s eye.” Think of a blind samurai who senses the enemy’s movement through air and sound, then lands a perfect strike.

QC has a pretty high skill barrier, and let’s be honest, not many new players stick around these days. Maybe stuff like this could spark some attention — or at least make for a crazy fun experiment.

What do you guys think? Would rapha still destroy me with his screen off? 😂

What’s your mouse story?

I launched Quake Champions after not playing for a long time. Now I get 105FPS to 135FPS and dips blow this as well. Its smooth, but what happened to my 180FPS on certain situations and always above 150FPS.

I changed video settings and same thing. I want how it used to be. Is there anything I can do? Thanks a bunch. 😮

Hey all, I haven’t played champions in a couple of years. Used to play it nightly the first few years of its release. Just wondering how easy or difficult it is to find a game these days? I’m guessing based on some of the posts here that it can be quite difficult. Is there a particular time or day that most people play? Weekend nights? TIA

I’m not sure if this has been discussed before. u/Syncerror, I have a question for you: Is it possible to make it so that if you queue for a specific game mode, the system allows you to connect to the server as soon as a second player also queues for that same mode?

You could then play a warmup on the server while the system continues to find more players, up to a “full team”. Let’s say 6 players. Once enough players have connected, the game could then start automatically.

The long waiting times are really frustrating. I often end up waiting longer than I actually get to play. For example, I recently had 3h of free time before work. Out of those 3h, I only managed to play 1 game; the rest of the time was spent waiting.

So, would it be possible to implement a feature that lets at least two players who queue for a mode like UHT connect to a server immediately and start a warmup session while waiting for more players to join?

The Proposal: “Warm-up Lobbies”
Heres my idea :

1. Start the Lobby with 2 Players: As soon as two players queue for the same mode, the game immediately places them into a server together.
2. Begin a Warm-up Session: Instead of staring at a timer, these players can start playing immediately.

I only play QW but im asking because I trust Quake people in general. If you have used WMO for over 9000 years, what is a good replacement?

Im considering:

-Logitech Superlight 2 (the latest one)

-MVP Gamesense (supposedly a clone, but some say it’s not as good)

-EndGame gear OP1 8k (this is ridiculous, it’s too small)

-Endgame Gear XM2 8K (according to EloShapes, the front is a bit too low with an exageraged angle)

-VXE Mad R Major, and other chinese brands (Im not sure, since I’ve heard that they may use dodgy plastic materials, ie: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1ephlcp/comment/lhldujo/ )

Obviously, not asbestos literally, but still a valid claim, since the chinese pass 0 regulations and stuff the cheapest material they could find, when then you proceed to touch for many hours a day for years.

The downvoted comment only makes it more interesting, since people often don’t like when someone points at these things, and we know China uses some really funky smelling things, something that never happens when I buy EU products (that is why corporations hate these regulations, so you can buy cheap crap)

-Discontinued mouses that are supposedly similar such as, Zowie (not sure what model), and Ninjutsu Katana: You cannot find those models anyway, at least not new and I want a new mouse.

Alternative: Buy a WMO from ebay. Well, I no longer trust sellers, it’s probably all Chinese knockoffs by now.
