Something that I am working on

This little project of mine is still in a very early stage. I am not using an engine. Instead I am writing everything in OpenGL from scratch. Right now it has a lot of flaws and bugs but I believe I can turn this into something beautiful.

Bull/Minotaur themes seems to appear pretty often in Hexen1. All the bull head-shaped switched (starting from the very first ones in Winnowing Hall), minotaur statues holding braziers, and, of course, the Dark Servant artifact, and I can’t help but ask why. Is there a lore reason for it?

There is probably no official “Word of God” answer, so what’s your crazy headcanon theory? Is there an Ancient Crete-like bull cult on Cronos? (We don’t even know much about the god or gods the Church used to worship…) Did minotaurs live on Cronos, but were driven to extinction by humans? Or enslaved by magic and turned into the Dark Servant artifacts? Or they used to be allies for the humans of Cronos, but went extinct after (presumably) heroically saving their human allies from some great danger in a bygone age, leaving only those who were turned into Dark Servants but still refused to serve Korax? What’s your headcanon?

Hello, I purchased an Asus RTX 5070 from Amazon. Before it arrived I received an email from Amazon stating that I could redeem a code and get Doom: the Dark Ages on Steam.

The card arrived yesterday, I installed it, and I followed the instructions. I entered the code from the email in the Nvidia app, and got the error message: you must meet the requirement in order to redeem.

I looked around a bit saw someone comment that I should try to go into my Nvidia account settings and turn on rewards and reward notifications. I did this, and I still get the same message when I enter the code.

Has anyone been able to get this to work? Thanks!

Hey I was wondering if it says “Coming may 15th” even when you preordered it? In the Steam store it says that the countdown for preordered is only 13h left, which would make sense but I just wanted to reassure that this is just a “lazy” placeholder and not me being restricted from early access lol. Never had a preordered game that’s why I am asking.

Wondering what difficulty to go for on my first playthrough. To those who are playing it already – what difficulty are you on? How hard are you finding it? I’m thinking of Ultra Violence because I had no problem with Doom Eternal on that difficulty and I even completed the master levels on Nightmare.

Mark your god forsaken spoilers.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that I don’t want a second of doom the dark ages spoiled for me. Going to be honest the people who got it extra early via disc workaround have done this very well with this and I’m honestly pleasantly surprised with that.

Even if it’s text in a comment you can use >! And it’s opposite to cover up spoilers. Reddit has the infrastructure to mark spoilers so use it for all our sakes.

Oh and remember to rip and tear until it is done

I noticed while watching this comparison video that console version weapon models are drastically simplified. I would definitely understand if texture quality or general resolution of models would be worse on console but here they look really like simplified and different. It reminds me of nintendo switch version of doom(2016) when compared to other platforms. I just find it bit strange and would love to hear your thoughts about this.

I wanna get him the premium version for the PS5, and specifically a PHYSICAL copy. We both like physical media much better than digital. I can’t find if there even IS a premium version of a physical copy. Do yall know of any? Any assistance is very helpful 🙂 it’s for our anniversary and he has been so excited for this game!! (I know the game isn’t out yet but I wasn’t sure if there was a pre order version or if I should just wait and get it after it releases).
