Ironwail multiplayer w/ custom maps? – From /r/Quake

So I’ve been using IW to play custom maps and mods and whatnot, been loads of fun.

Recently, I brought my best friend Quake in the last hours of a sale, and we sometimes play through the main campaign. I know Quake 1’s more singleplager oriented (I actually got into boomshoots since I hardly have friends online to play with), but I think it’d be cool if we got to experience some of the community’s best in coop.

Did some searching and can’t see how to get Ironwail with multiplayer and custom maps, is there a way?
