Bloodshed is one of the best boomershooters I’ve played! In this video I played Nightmare difficulty in two hardest maps in custom mode (while trying to upgrade Peril 5/5 right from the beginning). Doomed Dusktown completed with Jared. Since I got Blood Pact early, I focused on killing as much enemies as possible, while trying to reach level 50 as well. Ended up with 3000+ kills, 5333 gems and at level 50 😀 And since I killed lot of elites this time, in the second half of game I manually cut out almost 3 minutes of Ripper Loot Boxes (you can see beginning and results only) Sanctum of the Shadows completed with Lady Seraphina. No Blood Pact here, so I was more careful. in sake time screen was filled with spells and madness 😀 Seraphina is probably strongest character in the entire game for now. Enjoy!

The game has amazing graphics and atmosphere, really reminiscent of Quake in terms of gunplay. I’m curious to see what people think about it ; I feel it deserves more popularity. Some people said it’s too hard and criticized the save system, but I think it forces players to really learn the mechanics and use everything at their disposal.

Hey folks! After some time away from the boomyshooty scene after Hyperstrange, I’m finally working on a retro FPS again. This is much smaller scale than POSTAL: Brain Damaged or Blood West, but in turn I get to be directly involved with the design, from gameplay through art, down to recording VOs and making this here trailer all by myself.
I gotta say I couldnt be more excited. The boomer shooter community has been my family for years, and It feels wonderful to be back in the fold.
It took me 4 nights to put together the trailer (down to recording the vocals). Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Hello all!
I’m really hoping this is the last major patch for this beta branch and it can move on to the public branch, but I crammed some pretty significant changes in here so I expect there are probably gonna be some edge cases (or not-so-edge cases) that I missed when testing stuff out. Fingers crossed, but as always, let me know in the Bug Reporting forum if something is amiss!
Changes
Burn Damage has been completely rewritten for all non-boss enemies. Previously, burn damage was applied against an enemy’s “burn threshold”, and if that value exceeded their current HP, they entered a burning state. This system seems to be a bit more confusing than intended and can also result in molotovs/flares/etc. sometimes feeling like they aren’t dealing any damage, if the enemy has a high enough burn threshold / enough health to withstand the burn damage. The burn damage model has been changed so all burn damage is now applied as basic damage, and if the burn damage deals the final fatal damage, the enemy will ignite. This has a few advantages:
An enemy such as a Peacekeeper or Harvester who is hit with a molotov/lantern/etc. will take continuous damage, and even if they don’t take enough damage to fully ignite, they will still have taken a ton of damage from the flame particles and be easier to finish off.
Enemies can be started burning with flame weapons, and then hosed down with damage from other weapons, which will whittle away their HP on top of the fire which is also burning away their HP, so a tough enemy such as a Peacekeeper who would normally soak up an entire molotov, could be made to catch fire by dealing a little bit of extra damage while he’s burning.

Blood ’97 had a mechanic that allowed MP players to incapacitate others if they dealt enough damage (without killing the other player outright), which would leave the victim immobile and at 0 health, with the screen-warping delirium effect applied as well.
If the staggered player got hit by any attack that dealt some damage, they’d get fragged instantly. But if they somehow managed to avoid harm during the glory kill period, then the victim would automatically get back up with minimal health, allowing the recently incapacitated player to restack and continue fighting if they’re lucky.
The multiplayer announcer had special voice lines for these finishers, some of which were most likely referencing Mortal Kombat.
Blood II had roughly the same mechanics, just done in a different game engine in full 3D.

Playing Pained in Blood and parts of the hud are cut off. I noticed a lot of games that play fine but the cut scenes or are cut of on the sides because they don’t scale to the set resolution.

I’d also like to find out more high-quality addon content for different boomer shooters, primarily fanmade creations that were notable enough to the point where the original game developers themselves approved them. The real cream of the crop, if you know what I mean.
