Project Warlock II News —

Hello Warlocks!
We’re back with a brand new Chapter 2 update!
Last time we introduced you to Urd, the new playable character and revealed details about her weaponry.
Today we will dive into locations you will visit in Chapter 2 and shed some light on the monstrous enemies that Urd will encounter during her quest of revenge – all vampires hiding in this article will definitely be harmed.
Spoiler alert: yes, there are vampires in Chapter 2.
Levels you will visit in Chapter 2 were designed and tweaked with feedback we have received since the Early Access launch. Places that you will explore in the second episode will keep the mood dubbed by the team “brutalist west”, echoing typical wild west setting through the glass of oppressive, towering structures that intend to evoke the feeling of visiting Sergio Leone’s set as realised by a suit of workers fresh off post WWII Eastern Europe site renovation.
In Chapter 2 the level structure throws in even more verticality to the mix with the danger coming from every possible direction as well as battles with bigger enemies in more open areas. No worries! Thanks to Urd’s agility and her specialized arsenal, you should be well equipped to deal with the demonic threat.
As Urd you will run through dangerous wild-west-style villages. Be careful though – stopping by the saloon for a shot of bourbon is not an option and greeting a cowboy will reward you with nothing more than a bullet in the head.
We couldn’t create a wild-west themed setting and not let you visit rocky canyons soaked in a sunset. But again – you will need to clear out the demons before stopping for a moment to admire all the beautiful sights. Canyons will test your maneuvering skills with cliffs and bridges that will require smart movement as well as snipers attacking from the distance if you stay in one place a tad too long.
No western is complete without a suite of classic mines, hidden deep in the mountains, filled with gold, and an occasional bundle of dynamite sticks. Explore deep corridors and watch out for various explosives and adversaries waiting for you in dark corners! Let the demonic shotgun light those dark corners with it’s crystal buckshot!
Ready for a crazy ride? One of the levels in Chapter 2 involves a moving train! Take advantage of Urd’s dash abilities and watch your step while fighting your way through this packed level with numerous obstacles, gaps to mind and enemies coming in from all the directions.
Disclaimer: your sole ticket for this ride comes in clips and the only punchable thing is the demon spawn encountered in those cars.
Let’s not spoil all the other locales in Chapter 2 including some surprises when it comes to their design, but let’s just say it’s not all sunny in the Urd land. What you do need to know is that Urd’s adventures will unfold throughout 12 playable levels, similarly to Chapter 1. We can’t wait to let you discover all their secrets!
A big roster of new enemies is coming to Project Warlock II with Chapter 2 to challenge your shooting accuracy and test reflexes under stress. Stress induced by the likes of a charging ball of muscle, fur and claws masquerading as an explosive rock tossing grizzly.
Very quick and bloodthirsty Vamps will dictate the tempo of combat right from the beginning of Urd’s journey. Confronting them will require constant movement and a lot of precision with your weapons – vamps change their position a lot, jump behind your back very quickly and strike with sonic attack. On top of that, they are really small…
Small vampires… called it in the intro.
Red Elves can be very tough cookies as they come in multiple variants (up to 8 on the scale of how long they have been sitting out of the jar, or the box). Hunters will keep their distance and use lasers to aim perfect shots with their sniper rifles. Gunners are not afraid to walk up to you and keep the pressure with their heavy guns. Lastly, Shamans will levitate and conjure magic shields around themselves making it harder for you to deal some damage.
What’s more dangerous than a ghoul you already know? The answer is: Super Ghouls! This grotesque demonic miscreation is not so fast and does not travel in hordes as classic ghouls but seeing its four-armed silhouette on the horizon is a sign of danger. Ok, technically they are traveling in hordes. Or, literally, they are a traveling horde, as these monstrous hunks of meat are conjured on top of numerous ghoul corpses to create a quad-wielding abomination.
Ok, this one was easy. The only thing predictable about the Gunslinger is his name. And the fact they use a six shooter. And wear a hat. That drops long after their bullet-ridden corpse hits the street. Wait a bit till they need to reload their revolver and shoot.
This concludes today’s Chapter 2 content update. As we’re getting closer and closer to its release, we don’t plan to slow down with new bits of info!
Next week we will be taking a closer look at Wargression – a brand new progression system introduced exclusively for the new Chapter. We will also come back to Urd’s tools of destruction – this time with a focus on new spells!
